For more than a century, our mission has been to provide funeral, cremation, and cemetery professionals with articles and industry news that help to advance this noble profession.  We strive to be an informational resource to everyone associated with funeral service - funeral and cemetery professionals, educators, suppliers, and other funeral professionals. 

Started in 1919 by my grandfather, John W. Yopp, Sr., we remain the oldest, family-owned and family-operated publication in funeral service.  As we continue our second century of publication, Southern Funeral Director magazine looks forward to helping you succeed in the coming year and beyond.   And I am happy to announce that again in 2022, there will be no increase in the advertising rates for our magazine.

Our magazine offers a comprehensive editorial calendar, fresh design features, informative articles, state and local convention coverage, industry and product news, and much more.  Each issue offers several editorial focuses that provide you with targeted advertising opportunities throughout the year for your product or service. 

You can reinforce your marketing efforts by providing us with articles for our magazine.  This offers you the opportunity to position yourself as an industry expert, especially in issues where the editorial focus complements your product or service offering.   We pride ourselves on the fact that we have a wide array of contributors to each of our issues. Our readership now exceeds 10,000 funeral professionals each month who read our print issues or visit our website.  While our magazine is distributed in all 50 states, the publication is widely known for its extensive coverage in the 16 states that make up the southeastern region of the United States.
